Denture Care

Senior woman denture careDenture Care to Keep You Smiling for Years

Keeping our smiles healthy has a direct impact on our overall health and wellness. Having a mouth that is free of infection or bacteria benefits our immune system and makes it easier to manage other health conditions. Even if you wear dentures, caring for your smile is one of the most important things you’ll do each and every day.

Cleaning Your Denture

Just like natural teeth, your dentures need daily care. Knowing the right way to care for them can help them last twice as long and even preserve the bone throughout your mouth.

We recommend:

  • Removing your denture every night
  • Soaking your prosthesis in a glass of water or cleansing solution
  • Thoroughly brushing your denture with a soft-bristled brush twice a day
  • Cleaning the inside of your mouth with a soft cloth or brush before placing the denture back into your mouth

How Often Should You Visit the Dentist?

At Brookline Denture Center we want your dentures to last for years. Regular visits with us at least once each year help keep your dentures fitting great and ensure that you’ll have the healthiest mouth possible. If you’re not sure whether or not your dentures are holding up like they ought to, we invite you to schedule a visit with us for an oral exam and denture check up.

Using Denture Adhesive, Pastes, and Glue

Some people use denture pastes, adhesives, or similar products when their denture no longer fits properly. Unfortunately, this can alter the bone structure inside of your mouth. A quality, custom made denture will fit so securely that you should never have to use an additional paste throughout the day. Our in-house designed dentures are custom-fitted, providing you with the suction and security all day long. If you require the use of an adhesive of paste, call us to ask about our same day denture repairs.

Denture Cushions and Liners

Over the counter denture cushions provide minimal relief to loose or improperly fitted dentures. Unfortunately this can also result in sore spots, tissue irritation, and irregular pressure to your supporting bone. We offer same day denture relining services to help your dentures fit comfortably without the need of products like these.

Whitening Your Dentures

The teeth on our dentures can soak up stains from everyday things like coffee, tea, red wine or tobacco products just like our natural teeth do. Brookline Denture Center can help you remove these stains on a regular basis to keep your denture looking brighter, longer. We’ll also show you the best ways to keep your denture white at home.
